Paint wholesaler Colours & Coatings has joined forces with Slimstock to gain greater supply chain insight.  By leveraging Slimstock’s supply chain planning platform, Colours & Coatings will attain a tighter grip on customer demand while optimising its purchasing process to achieve the optimal inventory balance for each location.

Founded in 1973, Colours & Coatings has become well-known across the Netherlands. Offering a diverse range of paint brands across seven locations, the wholesaler is a crucial player and knowledge partner in the commercial paint market, supporting car body repairers, industrial painters, and DIY shops. Each location also serves as a service and collection point for professional painters. Given the wide variation in product demand, Slimstock’s supply chain platform will help Colours & Coatings gain better control over its inventory processes.

Optimising processes

Previously, two employees handled the inventory management and procurement process at Colours & Coatings. However, the existing processes provided a fragmented view of each location, hindering dynamic action.

With the adoption of Slimstock’s AI-driven platform, the planning team’s knowledge will be captured, ensuring that processes and business rules are secured and integrated into the system. Furthermore, Slimstock’s platform will enable Colours & Coatings to make better, faster supply chain decisions. In turn, this will improve stock allocation and enhance service levels at each location while preventing overstock and waste.

Better grip across the range

Hendry van der Veen, Colours & Coatings Warehouse and Logistics Manager, and Gerald Beldman, Finance & Operations Manager, are excited to work with Slimstock. After hearing about Slimstock’s award-winning platform from other customers, Van der Veen and Beldman had an introduction to Slimstock in Deventer. Both felt that Slimstock could bring value to Colours and Coatings.

Van der Veen states, “Adopting Slimstock will help us gain better control and insight into our inventory. We are excited to work on this transformation project with Slimstock’s implementation team.”
