Since the 90s, Triscan A/S has been on a fantastic growth journey – but not without challenges. For its logistics needs, the implementation of Slimstock’s supply chain planning platform and Apport WMS has solved many of the challenges Triscan faced. For the automotive specialist, there is no doubt that the systems have and will continue to contribute significantly to continued growth.

Service Excellence

As a natural consequence of Triscan’s growth journey, both its warehouse capacity and product assortment have grown over time. Most recently, Triscan expanded the main warehouse in Brabrand by 40% to 12,500 sqm, and its product programme currently includes more than 57,000 SKUs. By introducing Slimstock’s platform into the purchasing process and Apport WMS for warehouse management, Triscan has gained a much better overview and has optimised both processes and resources.

Morten Hallum explains: “Data from Slim4 and Apport WMS is also available in Targit, which is our BI system. Based on this, we have been able to make many good decisions, which would have been almost impossible without the two systems. The ability to have an overview of all important key figures on a daily basis and in a simple and clear way gives us peace of mind.”

Flawless reliability

To ensure a high delivery capacity, it is essential to be able to plan correctly and deliver on time in relation to demand. And with more than 57,000 SKUs, calculating a forecast is naturally a complicated affair. This is where Slimstock’s platform makes a difference.

Taking into account sales history, the dynamic platform is able to create accurate forecasts and generate suggestions for the purchasing department. This ensures both the availability of the item and the correct inventory of the individual items. In combination with Apport’s WMS, the two systems contribute to Triscan continuously having a high delivery capacity. “A correct forecast is an essential key to success. When we are not able to deliver the requested goods on time, we are very vulnerable. To ensure a high delivery performance, the two systems are crucial – separately, but especially together.”

Life before Slimstock and Apport WMS

Based on Triscan’s ERP system, Axapta, initiatives have been developed continuously since 2000 to improve delivery performance and automate the associated work as much as possible. “Manual processes are time-consuming and often error-prone. With Slimstock’s supply chain planning process and Apport WMS, we have got our priorities in order and we now rarely overlook things that are essential to our business.”

Replenishment was also previously based on forecasts that were created using data from the ERP system. But with Slimstock, availability and quality have improved significantly. “With Slimstock’s platform, the preparation of forecasts has moved out of our ERP system. Everything is managed in one system, and it has become much easier to train new staff and transfer data and knowledge between colleagues.”

Rapid improvement

At Triscan, it wasn’t long after the implementation of Slimstock and Apport WMS that significant improvements were achieved. “The KPIs that are linked to our logistics and that we follow on a daily basis in our BI system speak their own language. Already after a short time, we could see improvements. In other words, our logistics have become more efficient, we have a better overview and we have reduced the number of errors. We are therefore not reluctant to describe the project as a great success,” concludes Morten Hallum.
